Training description
Do you need to build a private cloud? You may have already done so. Have you been successful? This course provides a set of lab exercises to deploy OpenStack in a private cloud in 1 day. The content is also suitable for cloud support personnel who want to understand how their OpenStack cloud was built.
Participant profile
This course is aimed at students with the following skills:
- Skills:
- Installing software from Linux packages
- Editing configuration files to enable software
- Basic set of OpenStack components
- Using Open vSwitch (OVS) for Layer 2 networking
- Motivations: Operating, troubleshooting, and installing the OpenStack environment.
- Roles: system/network administrators, technical IT specialists, deployment engineers, cloud administrators and cloud support staff
Agenda
The course starts with an Ubuntu environment with a stable branch of Rocky code. You perform the necessary tasks to install OpenStack components (see outline below). This usually includes installing 1 or more Linux packages (code), editing 1 or more configuration files, restarting services and verifying your work.
By the end of the lab exercise, you have your own private cloud, using all the default controllers (such as KVM for the hypervisor and OVS for Layer 2 networking)
By the end of OS320, you have the skills required to pass the COA exam.
Manual installation and configuration of OpenStack and supporting services from scratch: NTP, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Keystone, Glance, Neutron, Nova, Cinder, Horizon and Heat
This course is “lab intensive,” with more than 95% of the time spent in labs. The instructor is available to help debug problems you may encounter and discuss implementation.
