Training description
Learn how to plan, deploy and manage day-to-day IBM i operations. Emphasis is placed on security, system availability, backup and recovery, system software management and problem determination. Also learn an introduction to IBM i architecture and terminology.
Participant profile
This is an intermediate course designed for IBM i system administrators, data processing managers and others who implement and manage security, backup and recovery, system software and problem determination. This course is not recommended for system operators.

Required preparation of participants
You should:
- Complete the System Operator Workshop for IBM i
- Have responsibility for implementing the security features available to IBM i
- Have responsibility for implementing a backup and recovery plan and system availability for Power Systems from IBM i

- Describe and implement IBM i security components such as user profile, group profile, authorization list, assumed permissions, and object/resource security.
- Develop a security plan for Power Systems with IBM i.
- Describe options for implementing a security audit.
