The Computerized Adaptive Testing format demands a different approach than a traditional test — question difficulty shifts based on your answers, and the exam can end earlier or later depending on statistical confidence in the result. A plan for after the exam: certification isn’t the finish line
CISSP requires ongoing maintenance — an annual fee, CPE credits, a code of ethics. The training closes with a practical certification-maintenance plan tailored to the participant’s day-to-day work, so the investment in certification doesn’t lapse after three years for lack of systematic CPE tracking.

Does this training itself award the CISSP certification?
No — CISSP is awarded directly by ISC2 after passing the exam and meeting the professional experience requirement (at least 5 years in two or more of the eight CBK domains). This training prepares you both in content and exam technique to sit the exam independently at an authorized Pearson VUE testing center.
I don't yet have 5 years of experience — can I still attend?
Yes. You can pass the exam and receive Associate of ISC2 status, then earn full CISSP status once you document the required experience (up to 6 years to fulfill the gap). The training prepares you for the exam content regardless of your current tenure — the experience requirement applies to certification, not to course attendance.
What does the CAT exam format look like, and how does it differ from a traditional test?
Computerized Adaptive Testing adjusts the difficulty of subsequent questions based on the candidate's prior answers — correct answers lead to harder questions, incorrect ones to easier questions, and the exam ends once the system reaches statistical confidence in the result (typically between 100 and 150 questions, up to 3 hours). In the training we practice an answering strategy suited to this format.
How much preparation time is needed beyond the training itself?
The five-day intensive training covers the full content of all eight domains, but effective preparation usually requires an additional 4-8 weeks of independent study and practice-question review, especially in domains where the candidate has less hands-on experience. In the training you receive a revision plan tailored to your practice-session results.
How do I maintain my CISSP certification after passing the exam?
Maintenance requires an Annual Maintenance Fee, earning 120 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits over a three-year cycle, and adherence to the ISC2 code of professional ethics. In the training we cover practical ways to earn CPE credits that fit naturally into day-to-day professional work.
