On January 17, 2019, in Warsaw, we conducted another Royal Garden business simulation demo.
When we asked participants for their opinions, we heard really kind words and many examples of how the simulation can be used.
Practical insight into project management and agile techniques, inspiration to use simulation, communication, showing how important documentation is, reflecting on a long-term plan, teamwork, getting out of information chaos – these are just some of the observations from today’s demo.
As usual, the simulation was accompanied by emotions and time pressure for the tasks performed, but the experience of many participants helped to quickly arrive at interesting solutions, and the high engagement of the entire group resulted in completing the “must have” ahead of time.
See for yourselves how it looked:
Royal Garden Business Simulation
Royal Garden is an educational initiative that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional training, transporting participants to the heart of practical application of Agile methodology. It is a journey through the world of project management that uniquely combines theory with practice, enabling participants not only to explore Agile principles but, above all, to actually use them in a project context. This simulation, built on the foundation of experiencing and experimenting, becomes a space where theoretical knowledge about project management comes alive, revealing its full value.
Royal Garden invites participants to actively participate in the agile management process, where through practical application of methods and strategies, they can experience firsthand the challenges and joys of working on a project. This simulation shows in a remarkably flexible way how essential iterative planning, execution, control, and retrospection cycles are in agile projects, while emphasizing how crucial effective communication is in building a project team.
During the simulation, participants have a unique opportunity to transform a group of strangers into a cohesive team, working together to achieve set goals. The Royal Garden simulation effectively demonstrates how the diversity of roles and individual approaches to work affects the team atmosphere and the effectiveness of project execution. In this context, the simulation also becomes a platform for understanding and practicing the balance between control and trust, which is the foundation of team management.
During the simulation, participants have the opportunity not only to observe but also to analyze and solve project problems, which allows for a deep understanding of group dynamics and the importance of collaboration for project success. Royal Garden also highlights how through shared experiences of successes and failures, a group can integrate, learning and developing together.
Going beyond traditional teaching methods, Royal Garden offers not only a rich educational experience but also inspires participants to seek new, innovative ways in daily teamwork. This simulation proves that learning through practical action can be not only effective but also inspiring, motivating participants to continue development and expand competencies in Agile project management.
As a result, participation in the Royal Garden simulation is not only a valuable experience developing skills related to project management and teamwork but also an unforgettable adventure that transforms theoretical knowledge into practical skills ready to be applied in daily professional work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Royal Garden business simulation?
The Royal Garden is an educational business simulation that goes beyond traditional training by immersing participants in a practical Agile project management experience. Participants work together to design and build a royal garden, applying iterative planning, execution, control, and retrospection cycles while developing teamwork and communication skills in a dynamic, time-pressured environment.
What skills does the Royal Garden simulation develop?
The simulation develops practical project management skills including Agile methodology application, iterative planning, and effective communication within project teams. It also builds soft skills such as collaboration under pressure, problem-solving, and the ability to transform a group of strangers into a cohesive team working toward shared goals.
What feedback do participants typically give after the simulation?
Participants consistently highlight the simulation’s practical value for understanding project management and Agile techniques, with many noting insights about the importance of documentation, long-term planning, and structured communication. They also appreciate how the format helps teams quickly move from information chaos to organized, effective collaboration.
How does the Royal Garden simulation differ from traditional project management training?
Unlike lecture-based training, the Royal Garden simulation is fully experiential, requiring participants to actively apply Agile methods in real time rather than simply learning about them. It combines theory with practice through shared experiences of both successes and failures, creating memorable learning moments that translate directly into practical skills applicable in daily professional work.
