HR Specialist / HR Manager:
Contemporary Challenges and Key Competencies (2025+ perspective)
The role of the HR professional and manager is evolving in response to dynamic changes in the labor market, such as digital transformation, remote and hybrid work, the growing importance of HR analytics (HR analytics) and the need for talent management in the context of the “war for talent.” Challenges include attracting, developing and retaining employees, building engagement, managing diversity and inclusion, and supporting organizations in change processes. The use of HR technology (HR Tech) to automate processes and make data-driven decisions is becoming key.
Necessary technical and analytical skills include familiarity with HRIS systems, online recruiting tools, e-learning platforms, and the basics of HR data analysis. Management and interpersonal skills include relationship building, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, coaching and mentoring, and change management. “Leadership” , “emotional intelligence” and “ability to continuously learn” are key to effective HR. The ability to use “AI and Big Data” in HR processes, such as for predictive analysis of turnover or the effectiveness of development programs, is becoming increasingly important.
