AIX Jumpstart for UNIX Professionals

A training day designed as a mini-tournament to test sales and communication skills, designed to diagnose the current level of participants' knowledge and competence in sales and professional customer service in the broadest sense. The level of the group will be evidenced by the playing out of several scenes in the field of sales and customer service, solving the Individual Communication Skills Questionnaire.

Issues

  • Installing the AIX operating system, RedHat Package Manager (RPM) file sets and packages

  • Performing system startup and shutdown

  • Discuss and use system management tools such as the System Management Interface Tool (SMIT) and the IBM Systems Director console for AIX

  • Physical and logical device management

  • Discuss the purpose of the logical volume manager

  • Perform logical volume and file system management

  • Perform and restore system backups

  • Using the AIX system error log as a tool to identify problems

  • Configuring Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networks

We provide targeted training for experienced UNIX administrators on how to install, customize and administer the AIX operating system in a multi-user POWER (System p) partitioned environment
The course is based on AIX 7.1 running on Power managed by Hardware Management Console version 7 and includes practical discussions that are appropriate for earlier releases of AIX
