This year’s [edition of the Industry 4.0 workshops] was organized for participants from as many as six cities. One of them was the capital of Lower Silesia - Wroclaw.

Industry 4.0, or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is an approach that focuses on digitization, automation, and the use of new technologies in business.

What does Industry 4.0 mean for companies?

Industry 4.0 represents a new approach to the production and service delivery process in which digital technologies play a key role. For companies, this means the opportunity to optimize operations, increase efficiency, and improve product quality.

EITT workshops on Industry 4.0

EITT organized cross-sectional, inspiring, and practical workshops for enterprise managers in six Polish cities: Wroclaw, Lodz, Warsaw, Sopot, Krakow, and Opole. Experts who deal with the Industry of the Future on a daily basis met with participants.

During the workshops, participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest technological trends, practical applications, solutions, products, and devices. The trainers also prepared a roadmap for Industry 4.0, with particular emphasis on the location of each region.

Throughout the workshops and during the knowledge exchange forum, lively discussions took place on topics such as:

  • What technology to use in the spare parts production process?
  • Is RFID technology useful in the warehouse?
  • Can the supply chain be based on Bluetooth technology, or is RFID better?
  • When and how to use blockchain in the product life chain?
  • How to apply ERP and BI systems in the new Industry 4.0 business model?
  • What methods can improve production processes and how to measure them?
  • What is the Canvas model and how to apply it in the process of changing the business model?
  • Where to start changes in the digitization process - from people or technology?
  • What is the financial efficiency benefit after reaching a higher level of organization like Industry 4.0?
  • Why constantly monitor (analyze) thousands of production hall parameters when only a few dozen are significant?
  • Is the cloud secure?
  • Is it better to collect data on local servers or in the cloud?
  • What software can be used to create 3D models for printers?
  • Can you check the product strength from a design created in 3D printer software?
