Master of Ceremonies and Event Hosting

A practical training in hosting events as a master of ceremonies (MC) — from building the script, through introducing speakers and managing transitions, to working with the audience and handling the unexpected. The programme combines public-speaking techniques with a workshop on hosting conferences, galas and company events, based on live exercises and feedback.

A master of ceremonies is the host of an event who ties its flow together into a coherent, engaging whole — from the welcome, through speaker introductions, to the closing and farewell to the audience.

Master of Ceremonies and Event Hosting is a two-day practical EITT training, delivered onsite or remotely. The programme is intended for people who host or will host company events, conferences, galas and meetings — it combines public-speaking techniques with a workshop on hosting events live.

The training programme covers the key areas:

  • The MC’s role and event preparation
  • Script, introductions and transitions
  • Performance and working with the audience
  • Difficult situations and practical exercises

After completing the training, participants will be able to build a hosting script on their own, introduce speakers professionally, work with the energy and mood of the audience and stay composed in unexpected situations. Particular emphasis is placed on practical exercises — participants host segments of events live and then analyze them based on recordings and feedback.

The training makes it possible to consciously distinguish the role of an MC from that of a moderator and to build an authentic personal hosting style, matched to the nature of the event — from an intimate company meeting to a gala or a large industry conference.

Benefits

  • Participants will learn to build a hosting script with a time frame, introductions and transitions between programme items
  • The training will develop the ability to introduce speakers professionally and connect successive parts of the event smoothly
  • The workshop will help master working with the audience — building and sustaining the room's energy and adapting the tone to the nature of the event
  • Participants will practise composure and improvisation in unexpected situations (delays, technical problems, silence)
  • The training will strengthen ease in public speaking, diction and voice work in the role of an event host
  • Participants will learn the difference between the role of an MC and a moderator and how to separate them consciously
